Skill in: Communicating clearly both verbally and in writing; interacting effectively and professionally with co-workers, managers, subordinates and the general public; demonstrating organizational skills to effectively supervise the day-to-day operations of the facility or program area and the staff. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Administration, Business Management, or related field is required. Lifeguard Supervisor

Oversees daily lifeguard operations and supervises personnel by interviewing qualified applicants, coordinating training, creating staff schedules, monitoring work tasks, completing annual reviews, evaluating performance, addressing deficiencies, and implementing disciplinary procedures as needed to ensure efficient and effective operations. Serves as Manager on Duty by overseeing facility operations, including opening and closing the facility, completing daily deposit reports, and serving as the primary point of contact for staff and patrons during assigned shifts. Provides customer service to facility members, guests and program participants by responding to customer inquiries, addressing concerns/problems, communicating facility rules and procedures and directing customers to appropriate areas. Plan, schedule, and conduct regular in-service training sessions for lifeguards, focusing on maintaining proficiency in emergency response and safety protocols. Ensure all lifeguards are current with required certifications and coordinate recertification as necessary. Maintain daily records and reports for chemical balancing, pool maintenance, accidents/incidents, and maintenance requests. Monitor and adjust pool chemicals to meet water quality standards, and perform routine maintenance tasks, including backwashing filters and swapping strainer baskets, to ensure optimal pool operations.
